Each persons tax return is unique to themselves and their own circumstances. Our fees are based on per form required to file the tax return complete and thoroughly, not a flat rate. The most common statements heard are ‘Well my neighbor has the same stuff I do and they only pay XXX, why is your price XXX?” or “My return is super simple it should only cost XXX” and the advise in this matter is then please go to that particular preparer or if your return is super simple there are plenty of ways to file your return free or for low cost by doing it yourself or if you meet the qualification to VITA services.
